You would need to network them. The simplest method would be to use a router and Ethernet cable to do so. If one already is set up for wireless or if you don't mind spending a few bucks for a wireless adapter, you can do it with a wireless router. The manufacturer Linksys ( http://www.linksys.com ) has decent tutorials on this under "education" on their website.

to build LAN (local area network) you need :

1. Ethernet Card installed in every computer

2. Switch / Hub if you have more than 2 Computer (you can use cross cable if you have only 2 computer)

3. UTP (unshielded twisted pair) Cable - if you use switch you can use just Straight Cable , if you connect two computer directly you need to Cross the cable.

4. RJ45 is head of UTP, you can say it connector. so you can plug it into ethernetcard.

5. Ip Address on every computer - must be on same network
for beginner you can just use :

Pc 1 : 192.168.0.1
Pc 2 : 192.168.0.2
etc

Netmask : 255.255.255.0
Gateway : leave it empty 0.0.0.0

Hope help you

You will need a router. Do you have a cable connection, DSL, Dial-up? Being as it will be in your basement a wireless router would be your best bet depending on what your walls and floor are made of. They could inter fer with the signal if they are cement.

You need to go out and buy a Router and connect it to your Internet Service Providers Modem.
There are step by step instructions that accompany all on the market. Tell the sales person who you have as a Provider. He or she will stear you in the right direction.

It's not so hard. You just need a routeur (wireless or not). Depending if you want to be wireless. If you want to be wired (wich i recommend) just buy a long enough ethernet cable. The cable will start from the routeur to the 2nd computer. If u need help just email me.

You would need to install a wireless router. You can pick one up at best-buy, circut city or compusa. even wal-mart sells them. I would recommend a linksys or d-link
