For Example, nothing appears when you are in reverse; when your in neutral it says reverse; when you are in overdrive it says neutral; drive --> overdrive; 2-->drive; 1-->2!!!
This is so confusing and oftentimes I almost blow the transmission out of it before I realize. How do you fix this?????

hmm im assuming your car has a digital read out which is most likely something thats gonna have the computer involved if this is the case you might be better off taking it to the dealership if its not a digital read out then start taking your shifter apart and see what went wrong

The Linkage between the Shift Lever to the Transmission
is out of adjustment. Go to a Garage and let them fix it.

it's an adjustment of the shifter linkage, take it to a transmission shop and they can have it fixed in no time

depends on if its a column shift or console shift...if column shift you have to remove the plate under the column and adjust the shift indicator cable attatched to the column....depends on the year ...your best bet would be to call a olds dealer and see if you can get a manual...or check on line with olds dealers .my husband says if you are interested in what he suggest to let me know and we can give you more indepth detail tomorrow

Take it to a transmission repair shop. It's not something you can fix yourself.
