I had a successful VBAC 13 months after a cesaerean. Then
I had another successful VBAC 2 years after the first.
The key is finding a good doctor or midwife to support you in your decision. Go for it, if you can! There are always more risks associated with c-section.

My son was an emergency c-section because of dropping heart rate. Two and a half years later we tried to deliver my daughter vaginally and she got stuck in my pelvis. It was a nightmare even though she did come out without a c-section she very much should have been a c-section. The had to fracture my pelvis to get her out and we both almost died.
This does not happen to most women. My second Ob/Gyn was a quack! But you asked the question so I thought I would give you my honest answer. Both of my babies were over 8 lbs.

I was born via c-section, and I think a year later my mother had a vaginal delivery, my brother didn't make it, but it wasn't because of the delivery, he was a preemie. One year after that, she had another vaginal delivery, and then I believe it was 3 or 4 years after that one, she had another vaginal delivery, and then 9 months after having my sister, she had my youngest brother, and he was born via c-section, he was also a preemie, but, thank God, he made it, and he is now 18 years old.
Other than my mother, I don't know of any other women that have had the same experience, both my children where delivered vaginally.

I had two vaginal births and then had to have a c-section because my son was breeched. Then 12 months later to the day I had a VBAC.
You just need to express your desire to your doctor and have him support you.
Good luck wih your decision.
