The version I know of has Florence and Olive as the leads as opposed to Felix and Oscar in the original. In the female version they took all the names and reversed the gender keeping the same initial. Here's one description: Vera – is very sweet, very nice, somewhat spacey, and, although quite smart, is often a step or two behind her friends. She’s very funny, but doesn't realize it. Vera is married to Harry - and they are off to Miami in the middle of July because they can get better rates!

Here's a page with another character description and links to more info about the show (ie synopsis): http://www.basictheatre.org/btc/Basic/OddCouple/characters.shtml

it is a good character part, there are no bad roles in the play.
see what the other characters say about her, what she says and does and that tells you what she is like. to be more effective in your portrayal, exaggerate her qualities a bit, and always listen intently to the others when you are on stage. Allways react with energy to everything. Break a leg, Doc

The answers to your first two questions can be found in your script. I strongly sugest you read it before opening night. The last question is better asked of your director, since he/she will know far better than any of us what you are capable of.
