If Texas Congressman and 2008 Republican Presidential Candidate Ron Paul ran for President of the United States of America ran for Mayor of your City, would you vote for him? Why or why not?

I would not vote for Ron Paul because I believe he is a Democrat in Disguise and he agrees more with Democrats than with Republicans.

Ron Paul could not get anything done that he say he would unless he was annointed king.

The man has fallen out of his tree.

i cant fix stupid, but maybe your just ignorant, that we can fix.
Ron Paul's stance on the Iraq war is outdated. he does not oppose the war because he thinks it will get him political power (democrats) he just believes in an old time keep to ourselves foreign policy. pre WWII, this worked. however as we all found out on 9/11, our enemy has no army, no state, no home. we face an enemy in the form of a deranged religious political movement. we cannot isolate ourselves anymore, the world is too small. that's why i cannot support Ron Paul for commander and chief. but as a mayor, hell yes.

yes I can see your point, especially when it comes to his silly democrat-like ideas about not weakening our Constitution.

You might be right. I'd vote for him and I'm a Democrat. Not just for his stance on Iraq and foriegn intervention but I also think we need to reduce the size of our government (though not really to the extent he proposes). I'm always a little leery of anyone from Texas (not because of Bush, but just out of a profound distaste for the Texas way of life) but from what I've read and seen I like him enough to vote for him. I disagree with him on a fair amount of issues, but I get the feeling he's genuine and not an idiot. Most politicians just have one or the other and I'm getting tired of it.

No. Ron Paul is nuts. I watched a video of him in today's debate. He actually said, "There has been no imminent attack against our nation for 220 years."

I thought: What about 9/11? What do you call THAT??? What about Pearl Harbor???? What would you call the plane that hit the Pentagon????

I doubt even the Democrats would proudly claim Ron Paul. He reminds me a little too much of L. Ron Hubbard and the guy who led Heaven's Gate. He would be a mixture of Jimmy Carter and Reverend Jim Jones.

Ron Paul is a good politician and a city is too small for him.

VOTE for your choice as US President on my 360 degrees blog and know if Ron Paul will likely win.

It would depend in very large part on who was running against him. What if the other candidate was a raving psychopath who told you he wanted to...oh, I don't know - charge single mothers $50 to use public parks or something really outrageous like that?

Never say never.

Edit - I haven't really read up much on Ron Paul, but his views on gun control couldn't possibly be further from the Democrats views on gun control.

I would vote for him for Mayor, but not president. His policies (legalize Marijuana, etc would have a better chance of success on a local basis, and some of his national and foreign policies I would not agree with.
