I would suggest getting a book on mythology that reads more like a story - D'Aulaire's Book of Greek Mythology, for example - that also includes a family tree.
Textbooks tend to be pretty dry, and they sometimes expect you to already know the basics...which can get frustrating when it's not your best subject. Finding resources that make sense to you is going to be the key - it will take some extra reading, but it's really not difficult reading and it will make sooo much more sense.
If you can clarify which mythology you're studying (Greek, Roman, Norse, etc.), I can suggest some books that should be readily available at your public library. They'll be on a jr. high reading level, but interesting and well written, and they should make a lot more sense.

1. Ask the teacher for help. He may just not know your having trouble.
2. Ask another teacher who teachers the same or more advanced curriculum. They may be able to put it in more understanding words than your teacher.
3. Ask someone doing well in the class.
4. Study what you are doing in the curriculum from an outside couse. You will have a better general understanding.
5. As a last resort, get out of the honors class.

Not easy to solve. First you need to let your parents know the situation. Then go to your guidance counselor to get the class changed. In the mean time, you will need to meet with the teacher and ask for extra help. I know that's hard but everyone will expect you to do that.Remembering all the gods goddesses and their stories is difficult. You need to find a family tree chart that lays them out and write their story in brief on an index card. Don't use your text book but find a simpler history of the gods ,maybe one written for middle school. good luck.

Just because you are not doing well in his class does not make him a poor teacher, it just means you are having a bad time. Ask him if there is any extra work you can do to make up the grade point average or if there is additional reading you can do to make things more clear for you.

I would desire to assert, i can empathize with what you assert. i've got had instructors like that besides. that's definately harder whilst that instructor is the pinnacle of the dept, yet you are able to desire to understand that as a classification you have greater ability over that subject than you suspect. on the grounds which you have addressed the subject concerns with the instructor already and he's not prepared to take heed to you out. You and your classmates would desire to jot down letters to the Dean of your your branch. If thats him, then bypass in the direction of pupil affairs. yet despite you do, please save on with protocol and detect sparkling subject concerns which have been addressed with the instructor and how that's affecting all and sundry of you. additionally, with issues pointed out, please proportion a answer which you think of might actually help in looking a determination to the project to whoever you're writing your letters to. to illustrate, detect having a survey or comments following the class or mid semester to communicate subject concerns which will nicely be fastened. If this is purely too plenty and you're no longer too a ways alongside interior the semister, purely drop the class and notice if somebody else is coaching. That, i've got self belief would desire to be your very final selection. yet being proactive approximately your coaching is important. you're paying him to income what he knows and if he won't be able to try this, then his place needs to be re-evaluated. i'm hoping this enables

Accept the challenge. Think of this as a TV show called Survivor Student. Whatever they give you to do, do it then ask for extra credit work.
