Where do freckles come from?
From the sun? Or is it genetic?
Are people born with them? If so, did some relative way back get freckles? Then it went into the DNA?

It's a combination. Freckles are technically a piebald suntan. Those who form freckles tan in little uneven patches instead of the same tone all over. If a freckle-face stays out of the sun, s/he will remain pale and have no freckles.
By the way, acquired characteristics cannot "go into the DNA". The DNA changes and morphs, helped along with sexual reproduction, and those changes in the DNA produce different characteristics. If the new characteristics help the organism survive and reproduce, they become more prevalent in the population.

You would have to have a genetic disposition to freckles to get them from the sun. Not every person capable of having freckles gets them cause they don't go into the sun very much.

It can be genetic and you just get more when you stay in the sun for too long. I think we have the Irish to thank! I have Irish, French, German, and English ancestors, but my Irish characteristics definately prevail! I ended up with the red hair, green eyes, and freckles.
