its telling me there is on sound device installed, could anyone help me out? do i need to hook something inside or is it blown or ?? plz help lookin at the guts of it right now, at bro s house

i think the soundcard is a legacy ? but i ordered this comp. barebones kit years ago and had a friend build if up.. where how can i found out what type of soundcard drivers i need for it?

i don't have any original computer discs. save for windows xp

Go to your manufacturers website and download your original drivers.

Look at the CD's that came with your PC. There should be one titled Drivers and Utilities, or something like that.

You need to reinstall the driver for your sound and it will be on that CD.

In fact it's usually best to just install all the drivers that are on that CD.

You need to download the sound drivers from the manufacturer website. When you got your hard drive formatted, the drivers got destroyed.

Who is the manufacturer of your computer? HP, Compaq, etc. The reason why you don't hear sound, is because you need the drivers for it.
