I have pulled teeth for two years trying to get child support enforcement to do SOMETHING to get my ex husband to pay child support. I can't go to another office because they must do it in the county that HE lives in. CSE told me to get his address, and they can issue him a sopoena for court. I give them his address, but they won't do anything because his name is not on the lease. I cannot hire a lawyer, because (surprise) I have no money! It was suggested to me by a friend to go to the local news with it, but they do not want to do a story on how Dougherty county child support enforcement won't do their job. I am at my wit's end. I feel like my kids and I are just at the fringes of society, people that nobody cares about. I feel like we are second class citizens. I can't go to support kids because they will take 34% of any money we get, and we need ALL of it. I'm in school, trying to pave away for us. He is about ten grand behind, and we are really desperate.

the parent needs go phone the county and ask when the free attorney is available, then go down on that day and be the first in line to see that attorney. That attorney will provide information, maybe will even suggest a good attorney who will provide assistance "pro bono".

Otherwise you need to find a woman's shelter organization and talk with them asking for help to get this matter into the court system.

Perhaps your church will also know of someone who would work for you "pro bono".

You can also phone your county information line and ask what help there is for you. You can also write or email your governor and ask what help there is for you. Have you also asked at the welfare department, or at the building that houses the job services in your area?

wow, and I thought i was the only one that was owed money. Well, don't feel so bad my ex owes TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS! He has not paid for TWO YEARS. It is a court order to. He has not worked for 2 years. And the little he did do, it was cash, and he never once gave me money.

I would go talk to a free lawyer at the court house

if you can get his social security number they can find where he works and garnish his wages. Also write your representative,if you are a registered voter(they rarely help people that are not registered). The CSEA wants easy money, they really aren't concerned about the kids.

Do you have a judgment? If you are divorced, your judgment should have stated what the child support order was. Once you have that, you send it to his employer and they have to garnish.
