All isotopes of the same element have the same number of protons in their nuclei. Different isotopes have differing numbers of neutrons in their nuclei.

Some elements have isotopes that are stable and some that are unstable, emitting nuclear radiation at different rates as the nuclei decay. But that doesn't apply to ALL isotopes, only some.

the isotopes of an element all contain the same number of protons, with varying numbers of neutrons. Different isotopes of elements do different things. They weigh more or weigh less etc etc...
