I respect that he has such a passion to win, but I do not respect the fact that he traded away so many good prospects to get old washed up players. I think it's ridiculous for him to threaten Joe Torre like he did. It's not Joe's fault the Yankees couldnt hit, or that Chein-Ming Wang wasnt pitching well. Torre pulled all the right strings, and he should win coach of the year for bringing those Yankees back from that awful record.
I would like to see Steinbrenner coach the Yankees. See if he can get them a World Series win.

The Yankees were an old and beleaguered franchise when Steinbrenner and his investment team purchased the club from CBS in the early 1970s. He is not in the greatest of health and that is one reason why I hoped the club could win the title this season. Love him or hate him, Steinbrenner is as New York as anyone and exemplifies the larger-than-life aspects the city has and will always have.

I really agreed with"LAURA G" Steinbrenner should try to enjoy what ever he has left to live, and to appreciate all the achievements earned since the first day he took over the team till now. Also "THE BOSS" should learn from the ATLANTA BRAVES organization,How long has BOBBY COX been coaching the Braves to long, with tremendous team year by year and always failing to advance,AS soon the next season started Mr. COX was always still in command year by year Thu out the past 20 years !

He is a great boss ever since buying the Yankees. He is dedicated to winning.
Sure people say the Yankees have 'choked' in the playoffs ever since 2001, but if Georgie wasnt here the Yankees probably wouldnt have won thier championships in '77, '78, '96, '98 99' and '00.
Call him mean, call him a jerk. But hes a boss who bought the team with one goal in mind : to win.

He always talks about making the team "better" but all he does to rectify situations is send out payrolls to old bad players. If he really wanted to get the yankees going, he should've transferred a lot more money into scouting young player and developing players in the farm system.

he has got to be one of the dumbest people ever in the world. this dummy has spent 1.2 billion dollars on payroll and has won NOTHING...to be more to the point, he has lost twice to lowly midwest teams who spend less than half of what he does....
