It is considered a lower-ranked school for all degrees -- not just master's degrees.

It is a For Profit corporation -- and its degrees are not respected.

And yes -- it does matter in the professional career market.

Argosy isn't regarded well at all. Employers won't necessarily care whether you went to a top tier or second tier school, but they will care if you go to the worst school. It will make them question whether you're qualified.

Go to the best school that you can get into and look for every opportunity to graduate with as much experience as you can. I don't know about other fields, but I have my masters in history/historic preservation. I went to a second tier school. When I job hunted people wanted to see a resume and a writing sample and have references to call. I graduated with a really high GPA, did two internships (my program required one) one of which resulted in a publication, had a work study job in my field, took more than the required number of classes in my concentration, wrote a thesis (optional for my program) and did volunteer work. I had some connections before grad school and networked like crazy when I got out. I had a job in 4 months.
