As corny as it seems, I think about how whatever I do will affect me in the future.
And that keeps me from doing half of the things I think about =)

Since we live in a world that one thing leads to another .. you may wanna cut down on the things lead you to doing bad ... for example:

Drinking can lead to many things . .Killing someone .. having unwanted sex .. saying something you would never say if you were sober. If going to the club leads you to getting drunk than I would say dont go ... If hanging out with person A leads you to go to the club .. then dont hang out with person A ... If being in a Place X leads you to crossing paths with Person A then dont go to Place X.

PLACE X LEADS TO PERSON A

PERSON A LEADS TO CLUB

CLUB LEADS TO DRUNK

DRUNK LEADS TO:

A) Unwanted Sex (in this case you get AIDS)
B) Revealing a secret about your self.
C) Murdering someone and end up in jail

One thing leads to another .. draw the line where its safe
