Yes, you have to wait 30 days.
That is the law.
In order to get the car out of impound, he has to get an impound release form from the area detectives where the vehicle was impounded.
He will then have to have a licensed driver to drive the vehicle, and must prove that the vehicle is currently registered and insured.
Of course, he must also pay the tow and impound fees.

some else with a license can get the car out for him, just don't wait to long. the charges will add up. I believe its $25 a day. depends where you live. go right away to get the car out. check where the car was towed. then go from there. good luck.

He does not have to wait.

He needs to call the police department that stopped him, ask them which tow company towed his car.

Call the tow company, he will have to pay the towing charge and storage fees for each day they have the car.

Ususally the car will only be released to the registered owner.

Make sure he brings a licensed driver too.

He need only bring his registration and a registered driver (to drive it home) and a money to pay the impound fee. The police have no right to keep it unless it is to be used as evidence in the trial.

The best way to find out the answer is to call the phone number on the ticket. If they don't have the answer, they can tell you who does.

Yes, you can get it back. We can't answer the time limit questions unless you tell us what country you're in.

he will have to get a license first...they are not going to give it to the registered owner if he can't drive it home.
