I'm honest...I think. If I was in your situation, I probably wouldn't have noticed and maybe noticed when I left. I wish there were more people like you in the world. It would be such a better place! You did the right thing, well done.

I would so give it back. I would feel bad for the person, if they later realized that they gave the wrong change back, and the people didn't even tell them. I would n't want to be a cashier and have that happen. I think honesty is everything. It is impossible for me to lie, yet i can "cover" things up, they always are revealed. Honest people make the world a better place. That is a very thoughtful and nice thing you idd giving the change back. There needs to be more people like you in the world. People that don't care about money but happiness.

I was actually in a situation like that at McDonalds. And I can honestly say, I was not honest that day. My total was like 5 dollars and some change. So I gave her $10 (one of the new tens that look like monopoly money) and she ended up giving me like $14 back. She must have thought I gave her a 20.

Yes, I would give it back. The one time I didn't was a few years ago at Christmas time. I didn't notice the cashier had given me too much money back until I was at home the next day. I decided to put the amount I was given into the Salvation Army collection kettle. I felt good about it because I knew it was for a good cause-maybe it would help a child have a nice Christmas.

Yes, I am honest. I could've walked out with so much money on many different occasions, because a cashier gave me the wrong change, but I haven't because that is not how I am. I had a man drop a $100 bill in front of me as he was walking away & he didn't know it & we caught up to him & gave it back to him. He was so relieved. He had no idea it had fallen out of his wallet.
Good for you for being honest :-)

It happens to me all the time..but I give it back.. (you never know what the clerk or the person's boss is like..and what the situation is for this person to be working..sometimes I hear that certain employers make the clerk working on that till give the missing money out of their pocket..that would suck especially if that clerk was a student)

however the opposite has also happened and the clerk wasn't so honest. or just simply forgot.....until I figured it out and say something at that time. like "excuse me you forgot to give me my change back"..Or like I gave you a 20 I'm missing my change

I don't believe in cheating someone or being cheated to myself..its only fair...

Yeah, if I noticed I would give it back. I've done it before. I've also counted my change and found that the cashier shorted me and I pointed that out as well! I'm also the kind of person who if I see someone drop money, a purse, a wallet, I always tell them and return it.

I would if I noticed, and I usually do. I have had people try to give me change back from a twenty when I paid with a five. I would feel guilty if I knowingly pocketed the extra.

I would definitly give it back. I've given wrong change and I know what a head ache it can be. Let alone it's their money they have to use to re-pay. It's the correct and moral thing to do.
