My ex-girlfriend still keeps bugging me about that (does it affect our "vision" if we don't?) Did your parents ever teach you that?

That's a weird one.... never heard that belief before.....
It can't hurt your vision.... either way, it will still take a little while for your eyes to adjust

That's pretty strange if you ask me. I've never heard of anybody getting mad or upset becuase a person doesn't close their eyes before the lights go out.

I don't know about hurting your vision, but closing your eyes first does help you see in the dark faster.

Sounds very weird to me...are you sure there isn't an underlying reason as to why she was mad at you? This just sounds way to petty.
