I am planning to go to U.S for a holiday and thought of getting an iphone there but I am afraid if iphone is not yet compatible with Malaysian reception now?
Should I buy it in U.S now or should I wait until next year?

You can certainly pick up an iPhone at Apple in USA but all the models are now firmware 1.1.1. So far this cant be unlocked, only the older ones like 1.0.2 can be done safely. There are services which will ship to Malaysia though...(http://www.iphoneanywhere.com/ for example) price is a bit higher but you can get an unlocked iphone right now that will work with any GSM provider (i.e. pretty much any Malaysian provider)
