Toshiba screen died!?

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop. It was working fine, until just like 30 minutes ago. The screen went dark and I can't make it bright again. I can VAGUELY see the screens and everything, but I currently have it hooked up to an external (Enormous) bulky monitor. HELP!

Your back light went out and needs to be replaced

Sounds more like the battery died. Charge it and try again or work off the adapter for a while - especially since you expect the laptop battery to power an "enormous" monitor.
