All I read all year were the following:

1. 27 in '07
2. Red Sux
3. Collapse of 78 is reborn...
4. Yankees Rule
5. Joba Rules

So many more...

But can they really brag about anything?

1. 4-13 in their last 17 post-season games.
2. A-Roid hit like A-Roid in October
3. Jeter hit like A-Roid in October
4. Posada hit like A-Roid in October
5. Matsui hit like A-Roid in October
6. Wang pitched like crap for two months
7. Mussina is just old, man.
8. Clemens was the biggest waste of money ever...period.
9. Joba apparently attracts bugs, and can't handle it.
10. The Yanks have lost three straight ALDS series.
11. $1.3 BILLION down the toilet.

I mean really, besides ancient championships, what's so impressive that most (not all) Yankee fans STILL have that arrogant attitude, even after they were embarreassed again??? Why do you brag? That's all I want to know.

Because we are fans and we love our team.

Were the Yankees embarrassed? Hell no! They were beated by a better team. Why is that embarrassing?

They had a devastating start to the season, with 5 starting pitchers on the DL. They had something like 13 rookie pitchers on the roster during the season. They had a great second half of the season to make it to the playoffs. We saw emerging home-grown stars like Melky Cabrera (14 outfield assists), Robinson Cano, Shelly Duncan, Joba Chamberlain, Phil Hughes, Ian Kennedy. We saw a MVP season from Alex Rodriguez.

Do I wish they were still playing? Hell yeah!

Why don't you go jump on the other teams who lost in the first round. The Cubs (100 years and counting). The Phillies (1 championship in 140 years). The Angels (What the flip city are they from anyway?)

We'll be back again next year.

Do you think is well spent seething about how much you hate a team?

First and foremost, Yankees fans are fans and of course they are going to support their team. Second, this was a trying year for the Yankees, so having some bright spots like Joba and their near comeback are cause for celebration. Third, I think Yankees fans were much more mature about Boston's collapse last year, remember when they didn't even make the playoffs.

Maybe Yankee's fans are spoiled, maybe there are entitlement issues, but fact is they are a great team every year and they give fans a reason to be proud. Given everything the team overcame this year (injuries, slumps by the big hitters, constant questions about their manager) and the fact that they still made the playoffs makes me proud of them and gives me hope for next year. Maybe some moves will be made for some young pitching, maybe next year will be the year again.

Very, very plenty so. It wasn't the comparable roster it extremely is now whilst they gained very almost all of those championships. particular, they are able to be proud, yet not declare that the Yankees are extra useful than the purple Sox only because of the fact they have 26 international sequence earrings. comparable for us not prevailing in 86 years - it is not like it replaced into the right comparable purple Sox gamers attempting returned and returned to win the international sequence for 86 years. I agree that final century's Yankees have been a extra useful team, however the present purple Sox roster is obviously extra useful than the currest Yankees roster - it is not some thing you may argue, in common terms a actuality.

A-Fraud should be taken to arbitration and made to return any bonus money, like Michael Vick. He is positively fraudulent in the post season. He gets the girl and then can't perform. Maybe he just likes the thrill of the chase but doesn't really want the girl?

I am actually very impressed with all the Yankee fans who took this question on the chin and did not post any excuses. I totally respect that.

When you read that list. It really brings it into perspective how awful the Yanks played in this series.

they only had the right to brag before the season started. looking at their roster you would think they were going to put up 10 runs a game. but their pitching sucked all year, they kept putting in rookies who had absolutely no experience, and their veterans had no confidence the whole year. if it wasnt for a-rod the yanks wouldnt even be close to being in the playoffs, they would be fighting with the devil rays for tee times at the golf courses. they no longer have the right to brag about how good they are. you have to back ur stuff up with consistent winning and postseason wins. losing in the ALDS three straight seasons is nothing to brag about.
