I've been waiting all summer for it to start again & I discover the doofus group canceled it!

I love how his view of the victims would change as he learned more about them.

I hope one of the cable channels picks it up.

Channel USA likes shows with odd characters like Monk, The Dead Zone & Psych. Perhaps we could deluge them with letters saying we'd become loyal viewers if got Raines.

BOY I loved that show!

Why did they cancel Raines, with Jeff Goldblum?

Yeah, I noticed it's been cancelled too. I really like Goldblum, and I'm sorry to see it go. Seems to me that it wasn't given enough of a chance to catch on.

it was a mid-late season replaceplacement. it only had a a/b six episodes altogether. they haven't decided whether or not it's going to be on the new fall shedule or not. so they just call it a hiatus until they make the announcests for the fall shedule around july-aug. don't hold your breath though b/c nbc has a bad habit of cancelling really good shows like the black donnelly's and andy richter's show. they only showed 4 episodes of both shows. i really liked the black donnely's,but it's also to close another nbc show, medium's premise. i hope they bring it back it was an interesting take on the genre. i didn't mind seeing malik yoba's return to tv.

Raines Tv Show

I think it's cool how the imagined characters end up reflecting more about Raines than about the crime.

The case where a good, smart boy ended up being a drug dealer after his dad died reflected Raines' fear of what would happen to the son of his fallen partner in crime-fighting.

And the homeless woman reflected his fear of where his mental problems might lead him.

But don't worry, this intellectual undertones don't detract from the humor & drama.

Snailracer - I think it would have been better if the OTHER head was blown off! OVER & OVER AGAIN!

I also loved the homeless woman's episode.

And the doofus cop Raines has to deal with is a good character. He is usually wrong, but when he's right, he's RIGHT!

Gee - An intelligent show? why would any TV show ever want to keep one of those!

I loved it when the little girl kept shooting the pediphile who killed her! Except I would have rather see his head blown off a few times, - kind of like Tony Shaloub in Men in Black!

I loved it when Raines would imagine his former partner and he would complain about having to walk with a cane. "Why do you have me walking with a cane? I was shot in the head." "Well, I can't very well imagine you walking around with a big hole in your head, so deal with it" Maybe that makes me sick, but I thought that was pretty funny. But it seemed like in every episode they had to labor the point that he was not seeing ghosts, it was just his imagination.
