Well tomorrow it sounds like you are going to be set up for a scam. If you write to me and tell me the name of the company you are auditioning for, I will tell you if they are legit or not. That's the first thing you need to know. They sound like they want you to do a monologue for the taping. Have you one? If not, you are likely to be embarrased at the audition. The reason it sounds like a scam is that legit agents do not hold open auditions. They have super talent that they have carefully picked from those that have applied in the traditional way of submitting head shots and resumes and then interviewing and auditioning. For more info, read my profile and write to me at my aol address. Don't get scammed, write and telll me the name of the company and how you got picked to audition. Doc

Don't be nervous. Just be aware that you are most likely about to be ripped off. If you are not a pro level actor and an agency is interested in you it is likely a scam. Don't give them any money, period. Did they approach you in a mall or some other public place? If so, just cancel your appointment, you owe them nothing. Real agencies have tons of experienced trained actors beating down their doors to get signed. They don't bother with amateurs. 99% chance you are about to be robbed. Heads up!

No, you don't pay legitimate agents up front. Agents are paid on commission, they get a percentage of what their clients make. You only need an agent if you're going to try to work professionally and professional acting is a business. I really recommend that you take the time and research the industry to you understand how things work. There are a ton of people willing to take advantage of those who don't understand how things work and who mistakenly think they can just be "discovered".

see if they are affiliated with sag cuz then you'll know for sure they r legit. go to sag.com and click on "resources" (its halfway down on the right) then click on agent information and find an agent in ur area. u can call them and see if they want to schedule an interview or if they want you to send in your headshot and resume. if they're not there, then still go just in case and decide for urself. good luck!

you shouldnt have to book an apointment
people should be coming to you because your a good
actor
you might not have to bring money but you shouldnt have to pay anymoney
unless you get a job though the agentics and you will have to
give a % of the money you earned
