There absolutely no significant change in the baby based on what you eat WHILE pregnant. They have done a ton of studies on women before and during pregnancy in industrialized nations, and on their babies.
Eating or not eating certain foods (beyond those that are contaminated) will not effect your child.
There are suggestions that mothers who up their intake of fatty fish, (omegas and b vitamins) have babies with quicker cognitive skills. However, those same fish are the ones highest is mercury.
The most important nutrients needed for development were used before you really knew you were pregnant, and very early on, (until about 10 weeks), those nutrients were ones that were already built up in your system before pregnancy. Anything you need beyond that you get enough of in your prenatal, this include the b vitamins, like folic acid.
So, eat healthy for your own sake. What you take in will be used to replenish your body, as it will naturally used whatever it has stored up for the baby. Even so much as to leech calcium from your teeth if it isnt being taken in through your diet.
THe healthier you are the better you will be for baby later, and the better recovery and breast milk you will have.
Fresh fruits, fresh bright veggies, lean meats, dairy, and whole grains.

cereal with folic acid and as much iron as you can find also not instaant oatmeal, endamame beans I think they have folic acid or protien something good for brain development. also fruit is full of vitamins and rarely makes you sick. this isn't food but you should brush and floss to keep your teeth clean, pregnancy can steel minerals from your bones and teeth. good luck!

Eating plenty of fiber (whole grains and veggies/fruit) will help to prevent preeclampsia.
