FYI - For Southern states and specifically the Lorepetalum (Sp?) bush. Also, the Gardenia Bush? Does it need to be before or after a frost?

The tradition is after Valentine's Day. I do it a little before that but after mid January. You just don't want to encourage new buds until after the possibility of a freeze is over.

Always trim flowering shrubs when they have stopped flowering and the flowers have fallen off. Then give a good trim and watch the new growth sprout up. Do not trim again until after the next flowering or else you will loose all that new growth.
