though she had cramps and that was the only sign. my sister-in-law is very conserned about this and had a pregnancy test and it came out positive.

If you're in the US and the 12-year-old is pregnant, she WAS raped. 12 is well below the legal age of consent.
Now, I wouldn't stress too much about a 12 year old with irregular periods, that's pretty common, but the positive test is worrisome.
go see a doctor.

Then she probably got raped or had sex...instead of waiting it out, in the meantime make her take a pregnancy test, there's no way she gonna admit she just had sex, none the less got raped. Also, just to be safe, keep her away from her "close" male relatives. In this case I mean often seen.

She had sex - that is the ONLY way you will get a positive test. You sister/brother needs to take her to the doctor and leave so that she can talk openly about what happened.

Then she had sex. That is the only way to become period. Either the test is lying to you or she is. Go to the doctors office. Those tests are more reliable.

Well you don't generally get a 'false positive' so if its positive then i would say she is pregnant and therefore had some kind of sex at some point... good luck

ask her if she had sex or if she was rape and ask her if she know what rape is and keep her for any males even her father
