AAC is the only way to go. Compact with good fidelity

Lossless is nice on fancy stereo... but the headset on an iPhone or a car kit or a set of simple speakers will not sound any different!

AAC will be smaller.

Lossless files will be a lot bigger. This is because, as the name implies, lossless files have almost no loss in quality from the originals. As a result, more audio data is stored, so the files will be bigger.

You might think that most audio formats (AAC, WMA, MP3) don't have a quality difference, but they do. They filter out the subtle bits that you don't really notice, to make the file size smaller. With attentive hearing and good speakers, you'll be able to tell the difference.
