The Hydrothermal Flatulating Grub Worm is the organism found most often at the base of the vent. It is his job to control the flow of hydrothermal emission by adjusting the angle of the vent guides by moving a big yellow lever.
FYI the red lever controls volcanic activity and the green lever alters the tides.
Interesting side note: the Hydrothermal Flatulating Grub Worms are all called Dave. Even the females.
