Desitin is a great moisture barrier but ssoooo difficult to get back off when it gets poopy. Baby Powder is good if not to much used, to much balls up and irritates, Granny used corn starch, and some folks can't live with out Aloe Vera, there are lots of folks who use some type of "Udder Cream" it is sold at discount stores and Pharmacy chains as well as at your farm supply companies. There is really no product that is better for every circumstance BUT cleanliness is a big factor, gentle baby soap and water, if they are nasty messy a quick swipe with something will never replace plopping them into a little tub of water and giving the butt a bath then air drying before you put anything else on the skin. FYI air drying watch out for leaks, babys Pee any time the urge strikes.....
Good Luck, trying until you find what works best is about all you can do, give each different product a fair trial time so you know when whatever finally works.

Try nursery vaseline. That worked better as a barrier against the pee than desitin. Also, after a bath, let your baby air dry a little bit. I would just put my baby on a towel for 10-15 minutes, when it was warm enough and let her air dry. Use the pure cornstarch baby powder and change the diaper a lot. Good luck!

ooohhh the poor thing! I would take her to the pedatrician, only for the fact that this could be serious and depending on how long she has had it, but for now I would try baby gold bond and vaseline mixed together, i know that has worked in the past for my little girl, other than that for a rash this serious definitly the doctor...i hope she feels better....

It could be caused by yeast. You can try monistat cream. Definitely try to keep her clean and dry.
