It's certainly not a bad idea to be extra clean, it's just how you're going about doing it. "Wipes" that are filled with artificial ingredients can cause irritation and infection too so be careful.

I would suggest a peri-bottle filled with warm water to cleanse after eliminating. You may replace up to 1/4 of the water with hydrogen peroxide for more thorough cleansing.

Check out this website for supplies. The bottles are not very expensive and you can find them at better drug-stores.

There is another option for you. You can make your own "wipes" by using "Viva" paper towels (they seem quite sturdy) and folding them in 1/2 or quarters to fit inside a small plastic lidded box. Make a solution of the peroxide and pour over, and there you have your own wipes. Adding various herbs and tinctures can aid you in many ways. Comfrey Leaf, Yarrow Flower, Rosemary Leaf, Lavender Flower, Uva Ursi Leaf, and Sea Salt steeped into a tea then poured over the wipes can all be very soothing to a sore bottom.

I do for a messy number two. It uses less toilet paper and gets you cleaner. Then I use tp for any extra wetness from the wipes. Extra wetness can cause a number of bad things.

If your talking femine care they make wipes just for that. Using baby wipes won't hurt by any means. Babies have the most sensitive skin and they are approved for them....I have done it. Otherwise soap and water is always best.

Are you doing this as a method to keep your vagina cleaner? if so, you should always wipe first and then cleanse yourself, and you don't have to use baby wipes, they have feminine wipes for that at the store. Also, if you just want to kill two birds with one stone I'd suggest using those charmin wipes when you use the bathroom. And also always wipe front to back to avoid vaginal infections.

they sell feminine wipes that are essentially the same, but are meant for women. They are more gentle, I would suggest those first.
