It's really easy. You need to start off with a favorite team, learn about them and their stats. Watch the game and try to apply the knowledge you learned. If you don't understand some of the terms, just ask your guy friends to explain it to you. Watching the game live can sometimes be difficult, so I wouldn't suggest that the first time around.

by the way, the worse thing you can do is ask a question during the game. always wait until the commercials

Well most games for the majority of the season start on
sundays at 1 est, 4:15 est, and 8:15 est and the monday night game at 8:30 est. During thanksgiving there will be Thursday night games and the last two weeks of the season there will be games on thursday, saturday, sunday and monday.

As far as the cowboys game last night I would think your talking about the last minute scoring. Well the Cowboys didn't have any time outs left and the only way they could stop the clock is by taking the ball out of bounds. Or just spiking the ball on the grass. They were down by two points I believe so they just needed a field goal which counts for 3 points. But they needed to get close enough so their kicker would be close enough to his range as far as kicking.

There is the rule that you can call a timeout any time as long as you still have them. The Bills coach called a timeout right before they cowboys kicked it for many reasons. One is to make the kicker shaken or having to kick twice before it counts. A lot of times this season people have used this to make kickers kick twice and the second time usually miss it.

As far as the patriots playing next week, they will be playing the cowboys which is probably going to be the game of the week that's going to be at 4:15 est next sunday most likely on cbs or fox. If you look anything like your avatar, just go to any sports bar next Saturday or Sunday afternoon or Monday night. You will find volunteers to buy you drinks while they explain even the finest details of football to you.
