I recently had unprotected sex with my fiance (yes dumb) and it was around the time of ovulation. Of course it's too soon to tell if I'm actually pregnant.( If I am pregnant, it would only be a few days..) i'm scheduled to have an Endoscopy in a few days that would require the doctor to give me an injection to make me sleepy ( some type of sedative). If I am pregnant, is this safe? Maybe I'm being paranoid, because I might not even be pregnant, but I just don't want to risk it. any thoughts?

Yes, generally they give you Vistaril for endo procedures, and Vistaril is actually a preferred sedative for pregnant women - we use it all the time in L&D at my hospital.

But if you're worried, just tell them when you go in for the procedure that there's a chance you might be pregnant. Let them decide if they need to test you or change their med plans for you.

Yes, there are sedatives safe for pregnant women. My sister was giving something called Vistaral (spelling??) for her labor so I'm sure it is safe. Let the doctor know there is a possibility of pregnancy when you go. That's what I did when I became ill with a UTI several months ago, and the doctor prescribed me an antibiotic appropriate for early pregnancy.
