Camel regulars achieved the zenith of their popularity through personalities such as news broadcaster
********Edward R. Murrow, **********
who smoked up to four packs of Camel regulars per day, in effect using a Camel cigarette as his trademark.
When he did commercials on TV he would say "I'd walk a mile for a camel cigarette."
I** don't like using wikipedia *******
but I can't find it elsewhere. This is one subject I know is accurate . In my gereration.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camel_(cigarette)
Maybe that will help.
PS
He died from lung cancer.

There was a movie called "The Pretender" I think,,,,,,Might google that and find the author of the book on which it was based...Russell Crowe played the lead.

I have an 18 inch scar down the center of my chest from bypass surgery. I began smoking is 1962 and loved it and as a child of the 60s it makes me crazy that the "gubment" thinks it should tell its free citizens if they can or can not smoke. Even worse are smoking bans where the "Gubment" tells business owner that they must run a smoke free business. The Nanny state is here.

I do not smoke anymore but I believe that every American has a right to if he/she wants to and if businesses want to run a "smoking business" then they have that right.

Get this: As a cardiac patient, I learned that nicotine gum is bad for your heart..Wierd, huh

But it is sad that we are now all looking to government to wipe our butts for us so what do you expect. Good luck.

Google "smoking lobbyist". Lobbyists are people who try to convince the government things are ok (like smoking.) Actually, I think "Thank You for Smoking" is a book as well as a movie. Check it out.
