4 + k > 3 or 6k < -30
k > -1 or k < -5
(-infinity, -5) U (-1, infinity) are permissible values of k.
Or, you could say k not equal [-1,-5]

<---------o---------o-------------> 1st o = -5 and 2nd o = -1
k cannot lie on or betwen the the two o's. K can be anywhere else. Solve the rest the same way.

I will tell you the secret of learning this stuff:

- Go over the material before class at home the night before
- Listen carefully during class and ask questions related to the areas that you are still confused after the teacher explanation
- Try some of the problems on your own
- Get back with your teacher...show him/her your own work and ask them for feedback

Repeat at the top. Truly, is that simple. I know you will not believe me, but give it a good try. Learning is not an spiritual quality; is hard work and tons of practice. Best wishes.

You just need to get the letter by itself by moving everything to the other side. For example: In #25, the first part, you subtract 4 from each side and you are left with k>-1
