The books are a whole lot better than the movies. If you watch the movies without reading the books, things can be confusing. When my husband and I watch the movies, he always has to ask me questions about things he doens't understand. The books are so long that not everything can fit in the movies. If you want the real, whole story, go with the books!!! For example: Sirius Black is my favorite character and they don't portray him right in the movies!!!

No true Harry Potter fan will ever say the movies are better than the books..and that goes for ANY movie that follows a book. In my opinion, the movies are interesting to watch and see how the filmmakers portray the story..but the books are 100% better.

If you are a fan...it has to be BOTH. For those with time to spare and with bookworms...its books! For those with little time and being lazy at that....then its movies because in just 2 hours you have it all!....plus all the sensesurround, excitement and feeling the reality!
Me - I prefer movie and can never finish reading a novel. More interesting things to read than novels e.g. motivational books; books which will help me garner up my prospects in career devt; spiritual books; business, politics and economics! By the way this is an Economist speaking specialising in Statistics as a matter of fact.

the books are so much better than the movies, especially that last movie that came out, ootp sucked big time!!! i was soooo looking forward to the movie because the book was great and it just sucked...the best movie made so far was goblet of fire, and the best book is half blood prince (liked it a little better than deathly hallows but the last book was still great) i would like to see the rest of the books made into movies but im unsure about it now, as the last movie sucked really hard

Most people are going to say the books, because there is so much more detail. I don't even think I'd be able to follow the movies if I didn't read the books, they leave out so much.

Books, books, books! Anyone who says movies has obviously not read the books, in which case they should be severly flogged. The movies aren't even correct with the plot all the time!! Arrgh

I like them both. But I feel that you can get more involved if you read the books. When I watch the movies it feels to me like I have been there and it's cool.
