It would help if you provided more info in regards to how it is configured.

Do you have a local area network or a wireless network? When you moved your computer into your room, how did you achieve connectivity?

If it is via a wireless LAN, your problem may be that you are no longer in range.

If it is a wired LAN, how did you run the wires and did you use a CAT5 cable?

If you just moved your DSL modem to a phone jack in your room and plugged into the modem's Ethernet port did you use the filters as directed?

We really cannot help you in the absence of essential info.

Do you have a strong signal? If you don't have a strong signal buy a new wireless card with an external antenna. Make sure the it works well with weak signals and has a 5 star rating.

If you are using wireless turn off the wireless phone and the wireless phone receiver. If the problem stops you should replace the wireless phone with one using a different frequency. Some wireless phones are 2.4 GHz, sharing the same frequency as the wireless internet signal. Most people eventually find this out after having continual problems with the router dropping connections due to interference from the wireless phone. Many people complain that when the phone rings they lose their wireless connection.
