I sort of assumed that it was the same everywhere! Perhaps I'm wrong...
My family spoils me rotten on my birthday with lots of smooches and cuddles.. gifts... people phone and offer congratulations.. cards are received... text messages exchanged... a special meal might be had.. and cake... in our house the birthday boy/girl makes a celebratory cake and decorates it in his/her own favourite style. The little ones get some adult help until they can do it no their own.
Another couple, Donna and I rotate birthday celebrations. This year I had a smorgasbord of fine seafood and three bottles of very fine West Australian wine (between the four of us).
It's another very special person's birthday today, Jack B and whilst I am not able to celebrate the day with him in the manner in which I would prefer, I certainly have been thinking about it and .. if we all fill the ether with good wishes.. for a moment at least... the world might smell better somehow and clear his sinuses.
Love to you Jack, mate.
What a lovely question... thanks (((Moon))
LOL... cup of Icy Gazpacho... that would go down well I think!

Dear friend Jack
Happy Birthday and best wishes
A Poem For Those Over 30
A computer was something on TV
From a science fiction show of note
A window was something you hated to clean
And ram was the cousin of a goat.
Meg was the name of my girlfriend
And gig was a job for the nights
Now they all mean different things
And that really mega bites.
An application was for employment
A program was a TV show
A curser used profanity
A keyboard was a piano.
Memory was something that you lost with age
A CD was a bank account
And if you had a 3 inch floppy
You hoped nobody found out.
Compress was something you did to the garbage
Not something you did to a file.
And if you unzipped anything in public
You'd be in jail for awhile.
Log on was adding wood to the fire
Hard drive was a long trip on the road
A mouse pad was where a mouse lived
And a back up happened to your commode.
Cut you did with a pocket knife.
Paste you did with glue
A web was a spider's home
And a virus was the flu.
I guess I'll stick to my pad and paper
And the memory in my head
I hear nobody's been killed in a computer crash
But when it happens, they'll wish they were dead.

My husband and I stayed home and had a few close friends and family over. Kids at 1 yrs old don't last that long when they are having fun. They break down and get so tired and need a long nap. Maybe next year for the big party with his friends.

Dear, dear! With him not well yet, I am sending motherly love his way along with a wish for a Happy Birthday! I hope the nogoodniks don't make him drink too much and lead him astray!

They invite a few good friends, like Darthy,Serafim,Icy and myself to a Vegemite eating contest(the person that avoids blowing it out the longest, wins the contest).and then we charge up our flashlights, wait until dusk and go "Croc- tipping". It's kind of like Cow tipping, which is practiced in the western US,only with crocodiles
Happy Birthday,buddy..((((Jack))))
Jack B Nimble,Jack B quick,
His Vegemite cake,
made everyone sick.

If they're party animals like Jack, they love to get drunk and do strip teases for their girlfriends. I'm sure Kerr would LOVE that, lol!
BIRTHDAY HUG FOR JACK (((((((JACK)))))))
