I just relax and visualize my heart. I see if slowing down and become more and more relaxed. As I see it in my mind, I believe it works the same physically. I have been able to control my blood pressure this way. Of course, being a dog, you wouldn't know about visualizing, I don't think. At least in color!

First try to relax, if you are anxious, this will make your heart beat faster. Try to think of other things but keep calm.

Are you suffering from pulpations ! Do you know if any other relation, suffered or are suffering from this !!!!!

See a doctor as soon as you can to make sure that you are not/or have any other underlying conditions to cause this. It could be so simple as taking an aspirin to cause it.

But STRESS can be a major cause such as moving or changing jobs

The way to make your heart rate slower especially after exercise is to take a deep breath through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Keep doing that and your heart will become slower. Keep your breathing controlled and slow.

Yoga and deep slow breaths. Slow music put your mind in a soothing place. Also a hot bath works sometimes

It's not that hard. I've seen my heart rate go down -- hooked up to monitors, while waiting to take a stress test. You focus on calmness, easy, deep breaths, relaxation.

A nice hot cup of tea, a relaxing bath and a good book. Either that or yoga, but I'm lazy.
