You DO realize that one of the 19 high jackers (Think it was Mohammad Atta) wasn't able to get a NY drivers license to the point that they were alerted to his wear abouts...he ended up having to go to a neighboring state where they gave him the license, anyway, but the point being is that what NY has WORKS. If you let illegal aliens come in and get DL without any documentation, then WHAT PROVES that they are an American or what nationality they are? It is just another way to grant amnesty and WE THE PEOPLE have already spoken to that issue!

They're illegal. Even if I move to another State I have to show proof that I am legally there to get a driving license.

No because if they get caught driving without a license its all the local cops need to arrest them and call in the ICE guys.

They shouldn't be here, whether they're driving or not, the only thing they should get when they ask for a drivers liscence - or anything else - is deported.

I would just assume that they get a drivers license and have to show proof of car insurance to get one.

Living in California, I've seen far too many accidents where the people who caused the accident get out of the car and run away.

I'm in favor of it, as long as their address is immediately forwarded to INS, or better yet, if there is an INS office inside DMV where the illegals can go to pick-up their new liscenses.

I'm in favor as long as it has a symbol indicating that they are an illegal alien.

ummm......is there anything about the "illegal" status that perhaps rings any bells in your head?

Uh, because they are criminals??? Why do you want to legitimize people that are breaking our laws?
