well if these girls are ur friends, they should understad ur boudaries and you don't like swearing. just say like; guys i don't like it when ppl swear, its really rude and stuff.

if they respond like "its not a big deal" explain that it is

they should understand and if not try to ignore them or bring up that issue again later

It depends on how much of it you're willing to put up with. If it bothers you a lot (and good for you if it does) you should let them know how you feel. An up front statement such as telling them to go wash their mouths out with a wire brush might be a helpful hint, and then saying good bye for now, so they can digest that bit of information about you. It's good if you're not needing their friendship so badly as to compromise your values. Values are important.Your values are what makes you you!

That doesn't mean you can't be friends with them. It just means you need to make your stance so that you don't fall into a silent reluctant acceptance. You may end up accepting other bad things if you get into a habit like that. Sex, drugs, alcohol? It is important for you to define yourself to yourself, so that you can be that person with others. It takes courage to be yourself under pressure, but that's what will make your friendship the brightest and best it can be. That way the beautiful light within you will not be tarnished by taking on the sins of others. Love them, but be your own best friend by being true to your own way of thinking. It's the best thing one can do for themselves, And for those around them.

Honey, I was raised Mormon AKA no swearing no drinking no smoking no dressing provacatively no dating till I was 17 you get the idea
but my friends always knew how strongly i felt about the issue of swearing and never did around me. You just have to let them know over and over again that it makes you uncomfortable, and if they still dont stop they arent real friends

This can be very touchy! If you tell them you do not like swearing then they could get angry and not want to be around you. You could say that it really does bother you and that you care about them and wish they would not do it around you and maybe that is about as soft a way of telling them that you can do. It just depends on how much they care about you!

ask them politely if they can stop and tell them how you feel about it. true friends respect each other. like i have friends that go to church and are good gurls and i never cursed around them or talked about anything that they wouldnt talk about.

If they are really your FRIENDS they will respect you and watch what they say when you are around. Just ask them to stop and see what they say.
