My 97' ford f150 broke down today, i need help. there is a a clicking at the fuse panel on the drivers floor side, it wont start, we tried jumping it but nothing, the hazards and locks still work but when i turn the key I get nothing at all xcept that clicking. Any help is appreciated. thanks!

what exactly goes click?
is it a circuit breaker for the starter circuit? if so there is a short in that circuit. test each piece separately to id the culprit and replace it

You have a solenoid switch on the fender that feeds the starter, Put a test lite on the side of the solenoid that goes to the starter and see if it lights when the key is turned. If it does, the trouble is between there and the starter.........Yes, starters do go bad, wires also loosen up at the starter too. Could be just a loose wire.

Start with the battery and make sure it has a full charge, battery posts are clean, no corrosion (clean them with a small wire brush), reattach and see if it starts. Sounds like the battery is dead. If the headlights are real dim it could be the battery. If that is the original battery then it is probably dead.
Most AutoParts stores will test the battery for you and see if it will charge. They do that here in Calif.

take it to the garage. check your owners manual. go to an auto parts store and see if the have a repair book for your truck.
