Well about a month after my husband told me he wanted to name the baby Nathaniel Liddell Haze, Liddell after his fav fighter... I did not liek this. Well as we are getting just days away from having this baby I feel bad for tellign him no. This might be his only son, So should I just go with the name we picked(he gave into) or put Liddell in there as well.

I think Nathaniel Haze sounds much better.

I really like the name Nathaniel Haze! I wouldn't put Liddell in there. It sounds so much better without it. You never know what other children you may have and even if you have a girl you could change it I suppose. I agree with the person above who said you should name a dog that. That would be a good story down the road also. Get him a dog for his first birthday and name it Liddell.

Stick with Nathaniel Haze - it's really nice. :-)

Liddell just takes away the lovely meaning from the name and makes it sound cheap - your husband may be a big fan, but the name just doesn't belong there squashed between your two grandfathers. It doesn't even sound that good.

Stick with Nathaniel Haze. It has a certain dignity to it that totally disappears when you throw in Liddell.

i am sorry but i wouldn't put the name liddell in there i think it's bad karma to be named after a fighter even though it is quite a nice name

stick with nathaniel haze it has a nice ring to it and honours both your grandfathers

your hubby will soon get over it as soon as he sees his little boy

good luck with everything

I don't blame you for not liking the name Liddell, its odd. Tell your husband how you feel and offer some alternatives. If all else fails, don't use a middle name at all.
Nathaniel Haze is a great, strong name.
Good Luck

Good lord no! Naming your son after your grandfathers is respectable. Naming your son after a fighter is really dumb.

Having Liddell in there cheapens your son's name. Name a cat or dog Liddell instead.

Besides, having two middle names gets very complicated and confusing. Save your child the trouble and give him one, great family name as a middle name instead.

well i wouldn't put liddell in there. Your hubby might love him(chuck Liddell) but you already have given your son a respectful name, why add a violent fighter name to it. What if your son isn't into fighting or dad makes him feel like he has to live up to that particular name. If you have ever watch UFC you'll see a lot of blood and the fight really are violent and i wouldn't give my son a name that reprsented violence in any form.

Liddell is awful. Your husband isn't the one who'll have to live with it, so tell him to really think about what that'll be like for your son. When you say it out loud it sounds like "Little Haze," which sounds like a codeword for ecstasy or something.

I think that if you both dont love it 100% then stick with just Nathaniel Haze. This will be your childs name for the rest of its life and you shouldn't name him something if your not completely for it. You shouldn't change it just because you feel bad. Congratulations on the baby!
