I took a course and now I'm no longer there. But have friends who are there. There is a youth group they invited me to, and I want to go but I hesitate to go because I'm afraid I'll bump into people that I took this course with and they'll start questioning why? who? etc. I plan on continuing the course but at a different location. But in a way, I didn't leave in good terms-my grades weren't good. I know it's no ones business, but still. Should be running into them stop me from going to youth group, I do want to go, but having to explain the situations and stuff to old instructors and peers is annoying. Any adice on how to overcome this?..

NONE OF MY FRIENDS GO TO THE YOUTH THING, BUT IT'S ASSOCIATED WITH THE PROGRAM. SO, I'LL BE ALONE-WELL YOU KNOW.

Just say that the course wasn't working for you at this moment in time and that you plan on retaking it later. Almost everyone has a course that they have had to re-take, or drop because the work load didn't fit in with the rest of their courses. You could also blame it on a schedule conflict. Then just change the subject. They should get the hint.

"I ran into a few snags while I was taking classes there and decided to take a little time off and transfer to the other location."
