I have fiddler crabs and dont want them to die and yes I have a spot for them to get out of the water also.

The only dumb question is the one not asked. Brackish water is a mixture of salt and fresh water. You can make water brackish by adding marine salt, not freshwater aquarium salt. There are some very good brackish water articles and instructions at: http://homepage.mac.com/nmonks/aquaria/index.html

Technically,yes, but it depends on the specific gravity of the water. Most aquarium salt users only add a teaspoon per 5 gallons,and this probably wouldn't qualify as brackish.

Yes. Brackish water usually occurs in nature where a river meets the ocean/sea.

There are lakes that are brackish too.

not really. u would need alittle bit more aquarium salt to make it brackish.

freshwater is 0 on a hydrometer, saltwater should be 1.020-1.025

brackish is 1.002 so you will need quite a bit of salt to make it 1.002.
