I was wondering how much a 4GB, 6GB etc. flash drive would hold?
I have a lot of pictures I need to get off of my computer because they are slowing it down.

Thanks in advance=]

depends on the size of the images and how many

just go to the folder they are stored in and right click and go to properties and it will tell you what size the folder is

This really depends on the resolution and the size of your pictures a 640x480 picture is around .500 mb a 1029x768 is around 1.000 mb and 1600x1200 is around 1.500 mb.(this are only estimates base on my own photo) so 4gb is 4000 divided by 1 (lets use a 1029x768 picture) roughly equals to 4000 pictures and a 6 gb can hold aprox. 6000 pictures.

But with todays camera having 2 gb to 8 gb flash memory card your flash drive will be filled in a short time.

for price vs GB also consider a 2.5" or 3.5" usb external drive. this ranges from 40 GB to 500 GB.

usb flash 4 gb -is around $ 40 , 8 gb is around $ 90
a 80 gb external 2.5" HD is around $ 90-100

Because every picture can be a different size, there is no way to give a number of pictures for a size of memory.

Normally a computer will list the size of pictures in megabytes (mb) . There are 1000 mb in a gb. So if you want to see how many pictures will fit, select some, right click, and select properties. It will show you how many mbs they are. You can estimate from there how many will fit on your drive.

AS they said dependent on the pic size, but usually the avrage size of the pic is 1.36MB and the 4 GB flash drive can hold about 4000 and 6 GB can hold 6500-7000 pics.

I have a 30 gb ipod and all of my 200 or so photos only take up a tiny fraction of a gb. a four or 6 gb flash drive should hold all of the photos that you need it to.

Depends on what you consider alot. How about getting all your photos in one folder and then right click the folder and it will tell you the size. But a 4 Gig flash is not bad!
