Because then, is when you bond the most, mentally and physically. but sex is not all that. Mentality is stronger than physicality (if that's a word). If she loves you, she would definitely stick by you.

Sex is important in a relationship because it's really the only thing that you're supposed to do with your spouse. If you could no longer function in that way would it be reasonable to expect a woman to give up sex for the rest of her life? To me that's an unreasonable request unless you're prepared to have an open marriage.

The 'right' woman would. There are other ways of sexual stimulation. I know I'd stick by my husband if that happened to him; I might just have to do the 'dirty deed' alone. ha ha. Much more to relationships than sex. Sex you can have with anybody, the giving of your heart to only one or a few.

According to all the nymphos on YA you will die a lone miserable man but i am sure you would be able to find someone to love you! regardless of what people may say sex is not everything in this world, maybe you would be able to find someone to connect with on a different level. Who knows? just pray that it does not happen to you and you will never have to find out! LOL

Well, it is important.
Why else would people have affairs? trade an old partner for a younger one? Have sex before marriage? finish a relationship because of sexual imcompatibility?
Sex is not just to procreate, it's also to be enjoyed, to express emotions, what words can't always express, to connect, to get intimate and make a relationship more complete.
So, when a relationship can survive without sex, it's definitely not the norme.

Well its not totally. Its just another part of intimacy! There are ways around that. Love is unconditional, its patient and kind.
Women fall in love with men before they see the rest of their bodies! I worked with a women who is dating a man who was in a motorcycle accident and nearly lost "IT". It was a difficult thing for him, but she told him, I fell in love with YOU... NOT it!

Yes sex is important...but not a necessity in order to live....I am sure that there would be many women or men for that matter that would love someone that much...that they would stick with them if they become incapacitated and couldn't have sex.....there are other ways to satisfy your partner without penetration.

No... you shouldn't be alone. Sex is not limited to penetration. there is so very much more to physical intimacy and the lack of that knowledge is why I believe that there are so many very unhappy people in this world. There are more ways to be sexually satisfied and emotionally bonded than just that one part of one act.

that's a tough one. i would love to tell you that a woman would stick by you IF that happened, but i'm not gonna lie to you. there was an OLD couple on oprah. the hub's doc told him he had some virulent cancer and they needed to remove his junk. after the surgery, they examined his junk and it was cancer-free. the wife stood by his side, but the hub had serious self-esteem issues and was very depressed.
