I'm a filmmaker, so there's a special appeal for me. If I have a son one day, however, I'd probably be safe and make Orson his middle name. WDYGT?

I like Orson! It would be completely benign as a middle name, but I think it would make a great first name, and then your son would never have to be the fifth 'Bobby' in the class.

If I lived on Mars, and was going to a Hospital on Jupiter then yes Orson is a cool name. If I lived on the Ice Caps then yes...... Orson as a middle name... nobody would know.

It could be! You also have to consider what the initials would be and how the full name would flow! The child would be asked why he had that name so you might want to come up with a reason as to why you chose that name and it would probably be safer to choose it as a middle name. Just think of the child and how you might feel about that name later on. Anyway, good luck.

If it's being used as a middle name I think Orson is nice. :-)

I like it because it reminds me of my great-uncle Orville, and Orson Welles, of course. I like it, but I'm going to have to say it should probably stay a middle name. It sounds kinda geeky.

Sorry but when I hear that name I think of "Orson the pig" on that old children's show.
