Yes, and it freaked me out really bad until I read that certain tissues in your body soften, including your gums. The upside is that you shouldn't worry too much, the down side, besides all the pink in the sink, is that you should really go to the dentist because you are more prone to dental maladies during pregnancy. I go in on Tuesday myself! Good luck!

hi, i'm a dental hygienist besides as i'm pregnant and bleeding gums is rather difficulty-loose in being pregnant because of the hormone and blood circulate strengthen. Use a comfortable brush, floss as usually as you may stand it and in case you detect them swollen or painful attempt a salt water rinse. you additionally can improve a situation reported as a pyogenic granuloma or being pregnant tumor....its not cancerous so no concerns. Its commonly a redish purple colour and placed in between the enamel. usually it is going away as quickly as the child comes, yet now and returned it needs to be surgecially bumped off. Dentists prefer to attend until eventually after the child to try this for cover and becuase it ought to come returned. it extremely is taken into consideration necessary sparkling your enamel as ultimate as plausible nevertheless...surprisingly with the bleeding. Bleeding skill the is an open area for micro organism to go into the blood flow and this micro organism can return and forth to the child and has been popular to reason untimely labour. So only brush properly, floss and rinse and you'll be only wonderful. Congrats on infant!

Yes, it's normal. It's also recommended to see your dentist when you're pregnant, at least once, and if you've already got bleeding gums, then make an appt for a cleaning. It doesn't just affect your teeth and gums. See the link below...

I have also noticed that my gums bleed more often then they used to since I got pregnant. But trust me, it's normal. At my first OB appointment, my doctor told me that I might notice a bit of bleeding when brushing my teeth, and that it was normal. I'm surprised your doctor didn't tell you the same thing.

Yep- your whole body swells up and that includes the gums---OW!

I couldn't hardly brush at all due to that, and the fact that I gagged and puked from the taste of the toothpaste. I had to start using the arm and Hammer Dental gums thru my first and second trimesters!!!

Good luck!

This is perfectly normal. You're body produces more blood when your pregnant and your blood pressure can be slightly higher than normal, this not only wreaks havoc with your gums but you may also find you get a couple of nosebleeds! who says pregnancy is amazing!!!

Yes, this is normal. I went through the same situation. Floss daily and brush your gums. Brushing your gums will reduce the swelling.

Yes, it is very common, and very normal. Use listerine to avoid infection or swelling.

Your blood vessels are very taxed during pregnancy, and your sinuses and gums are very thin and swollen, nose bleeds, and bleeding gums are common.
