Good question, since I have never had a partner for any long periods of time, I have always been skeptical of needing someone to complete me, but as I get older I think that it can add to the completeness but not make it complete.

I never did feel complete until I met my husband, so now I do feel complete

No. Because if you depend on someone else to make you complete, you'll never be able to stand alone.(If you needed to.) They'd always be your crutch. If, however, they ADD TO who you are, then all the better.
