I think it's great, far from ridiculous. And it gives the rabbits the room and a chance to do what rabbits do so well!!

My rabbit lives in a 10ft long by 6ft high and 3ft wide brick dog kennel with the run of the garden. She also has a smaller carrier box in there which we fill with straw for the colder nights. As long as bunny can stretch out and stand up without touching the roof and he comes out for a run daily, the size is irrelevent.

The term "ridiculous" is relative.
I'd say as long as you've got the materials, and the space for it, and are willing to clean it out regularly, what does it matter?
Personally, I think it's nice that you're giving your rabbits plenty of room.

I bet they'd love it. How many times do you see rabbits cooped up in tiny little hutches and feel sorry for them?

"Ridiculous" for whom? Them or you? ;)
Seriously, though, if you have to ask the question, then you probably already know the answer!
Look at the links, below (make sure to click "next page" on the first link's pages, just below where the central text ends).
P.S. The word is "stories".

Sounds a bit on the large side. Are they expecting a lot of overnight guests?

It might be good with proper ventilation when it is warm, but can be equally cold when it is cold.
