I was outside and just happened to come across a snake, pure black with grey or white 'rings' covering it. Also, the rings looked a tad faded.

I'm wondering what kind of snake this is, and if anyone could tell me some detailed info\give me a link to detailed info, that'd be extremely apprecatied! Thanks! I'm just worried it might be venomous.

But it really sounds like a kingsnake to me. I wouldn't worry about it being a venomous snake. Most kingsnakes are docile; in the wild they can be a bit temperamental, but if you leave it alone it will leave you alone. You may get a nasty bite from it, but no venom. Otherwise, I'm not sure what kind of snake it could be. But going with your description alone. I would say kingsnake.

Knowing that your in Georgia... Definately go with kingsnake. I'm, also, from Georgia, and see them all the time.

If it is a kingsnake. It's a good snake. It's the kind you want around. They eat your basic rodents and pests, as well as other snakes that could be around your area, to inlcude the venomous ones.

Does not sound like any native venomous snake.
Most likely an eastern Kingsnake, they can actually eat venomous snakes.

if not that, there is a full list of snakes native to Georgia on that page, with several photographs of each, as patterns can vary slightly from individuals.
hope this helps

I suspect an eastern king as well, quite harmless. Check this link to compare what you saw.
