the distance, s m, fallen by a stone droped from a high point is proprtional to the square of the time, t seconds since it was droped. This show some values of t, t2 and s.

(a) s = Kt^2
80 = K(4)^2
K = 80/16 = 5
s = 5t^2

(b) Column 2:
t^2 = 4^2 = 16
Column 3:
t^2 = 7^2 = 49
s = 5t^2
s = 5(7)^2
s = 245meters
Column 4:
980 = 5t^2
980/5 = t^2
t = √196 = 14 sec
t^2 = (14)^2 = 196
